28th April 2006: Premier of "Brahms Begins the Day"

My new orchestral piece "Brahms Begins the Day" was premiered in the NCH by the NSOI and Markson. Fairly well-received. I don't know if it works, though...deconstructing the opening of Brahms' First Symphony in the second half of the piece is a good idea, but the gradual coming together of the different elements goes on for too long, I think. Anybody like to comment? Does anyone read this stuff?
