5th April 2005: New Commission for 2006

I have been commissioned by the National Symphony Orchestra of Ireland to write a piece for the orchestra to play during the Brahms Festival which the orchestra will hold during the 2006 season. One of the criteria for the commission is that the work is to have some connection with Brahms. It will be interesting to see how this criterion is met when the piece receives its first performance in early 2006.
